The Soil Association Food for Life initiative and award
Food for Life is an award issued by the Soil Association which guides schools through a 'whole school approach' to food.
Schools are encouraged to grow their own food; organise trips to farms; provide cooking and growing clubs for pupils and their families; serve freshly prepared, well-sourced meals and provide an attractive dining environment.
Lindley Infant School is proud to be classified as BRONZE 'Food For life served here' standard.
As part of our ongoing committment to Food for Life and Fairtrade, each year we enjoy a whole school Big Breakfast. We eat foods such as porridge with a choice of toppings (raisins, fairtrade sugar, syrup) and drinking fairtrade orange juice.

Halal meat meals
Our school does not provide any Halal meat meals as part of our school menu.
In addition to a standard meat based meal, we also provide a vegetarian option, as a daily alternative. The vegetarian option is suitable for any children who follow the Islamic faith.
If you have any concerns or questions about the food your child is eating at school please contact our Headteacher Mrs Kate Dilworth.
