English Curriculum Intent
At Lindley CE Infant School, our English curriculum is designed to help every child grow, learn, and shine as they develop their writing skills. Guided by our values of Respect, Friendship, and Trust, we provide a high-quality English education that inspires children to become the best they can be. Our curriculum is built around developing confident, capable, and enthusiastic writers who possess the transcriptive and compositional skills necessary for success in education and beyond. We believe that writing is a complex cognitive process; therefore, our curriculum is designed to manage cognitive load by breaking down the National Curriculum into "miniscule," achievable steps, using the I am a Clever Writer Framework and Skills Ladders.
