Free School Meals

Free School Meals / Pupil Premium

As you may be aware, since September 2014 all children who are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are offered a free healthy school lunch (Universal Free School Meals).

Children in other school years will also be offered a free school lunch if their parent qualifies under the Free School Meals scheme, qualifying details are listed below.

Registering for the Free School Meals Scheme also raises extra money for your child’s school, to fund valuable support such as extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities. This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving one of the welfare benefits listed below. It is therefore important to sign up for Free School Meals, even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, so that your child’s school receives as much funding as possible.

School Milk is also free if your child is eligible so it is vital that you apply to receive these additional benefits.

At the end of October 2018 school will provide a free school Uniform Polo Shirt and Cardigan/Sweatshirt to those children who are registered for Free School Meals from the funding received. Please ensure you have made your application by the beginning of October to qualify for this.
